1. Powerpoint Software

·         “Power Corrupts;  Powerpoint Absolutely Corrupts”

2. Discuss the ‘big picture’

·        Great for organizing your thoughts (for writing or presentations)

·        Can be converted and posted as web page(s)

·        Can be printed (hardcopy by slide or handout master (3/page)

·        Your information will be coming from:

o       Word, Excel, Brochure/Flyer software, off the Internet, typed in by hand.

·        <F5> to view presentation

·        View/Edit by “Slide” or by “Slide Sorter”

4. Starting from scratch

·        Strategy:  use the “outline mode” first;  then develop slides later.

o       Use of templates vs starting from scratch In “outline” mode

o       Use of <tab>,  <shift><tab> and <enter>

·        Discuss PPT tool bars

·        Use of  Bullets and Numbering

·        Use of Autoshapes and Arrows

o       Make sure  <toolsbars><drawing>  is turned on

o       Shadows and 3-D affects;   Colors, fill, and more

·        <File><Save>   vs    <File><SaveAs>    vs  <File><Save as Web Page>

o       <tools><options><save> and turn OFF auto recovery

·        <Format>   color scheme (links …)

·        <slide show>       set up show;   action buttons;   transition;   custom animation
