Tutorial: Saving Word files as RTF Format

Most word processing documents are saved with a .doc extension (Example: finance.doc). In order for all pc's and Mac's to communicate with each other (file transfers), it is strongly encouraged you save your files in an industry standard RTF format.

• The process is simple. When you are ready to save your document:

  1. Select <F>ile
  2. Select <SaveAs>
  3. Give the file a logical name  (Example: About Me)
     
     
  4. Select <Save as Type:> and when you hit the drop-down  menu, select Rich Text Format (RTF).
