For the time being, we strongly recommend you use Microsoft Word as your word processor. If you do not have Word, then you can utilize Wordpad by clicking Start, Programs menu, then click Accessories, select Wordpad, then hit Enter. A word processor will pop up (on most PC's).

  1. Now create a document similar to below:
    • Date:      (enter today's date)
    • To:         (put your instructors name here)
    • From:     (put your name here)
    • Re:          Two paragraphs "About Me"
  2. Next, write two paragraphs about yourself.
    • The first paragraph should contain basic information such as your name, year in school, and current classes you are taking. The remaining paragraph(s) should contain information that you find interesting to share.
  3. Be sure to save this document on your local hard drive in the My Documents folder. You should save a backup copy as well (on a CD, USB flash drive, floppy disk, or whatever device you have available).

IMPORTANT: if you are using Word Perfect or Microsoft Works, you must select File, Save As, and be sure to select a file type of RTF or Word.  If you do not do this, your instructor (or others in the PC world) will not be able to open and read your document.

  4. Example: to save in your C:\My Documents folder, Select File,  Save As, and select the correct folder and filename.
  5. Be sure to hit the Save button when done (before continuing).
